members of the Orange Democratic
Movement (ODM), who defected to
parties in Uhuru/ Ruto’s Jubilee after the
bungled party nomination, have begun to
return to ODM ahead of former Prime
Minister Raila Odinga’s grand return from
the US.
The defectors, majority of who are from Luo Nyanza and Western regions,
have been forced by their supporters to go back to ODM and make peace with
the people’s President, Raila Odinga, if they ever want to remain relevant
politically .

In Homa Bay County alone, over 350 have rejoined ODM and took over the
branch party leadership.
Among the politicians who have returned to ODM include former Rangwe MP,
Martin Ogindo, Charles Ong’ondo, Hillary Alila, Everest Okambo, Adipo
Akuome and Dancan Andiego.
However, according to political analy st Prof, Edward Kisiangani, ODM
defectors, especially from Nyanza and Western regions, have no option but to
return to Raila Odinga, otherwise they will go into political oblivion.
He said even the UDF leader, Musalia Mudavadi, who defected from ODM to
form his UDF party , may rejoin ODM together with Eugene Wamalwa to
remain relevant in Western Kenya going by their body language.
“Mudavadi and Wamalwa can’t sell the Jubilee agenda in Luhyaland. In fact,
their body language indicates they may join Raila Odinga soon”, said Kisiang'ani.
