KNUT Threatens To Call For A Strike

Addressing the press at headquarters in Nairobi, KNUT Secretary General Wilson Sossion and executive Mudzo Nzili asked Education Cabinet Secretary Prof Jacob Kaimenyi to make moves to fully constitute the teachers' employer.


Sossion and Nzili further stated that TSC has been working with 3 out 9 commissioners and no chair for as far back as four years which they say encroaches on educators' rights and bargain nature of ieducation.

Sossion further noted that teachers' disciplinary cases are taking as long as 16 months because of the setback of TSC officials.

He noted that this was illegal which stipulates that all disciplinary cases ought to be taken care of in a 3 months period.

Sossion additionally says if no step is taken in 7 days period, KNUT will have no otherwise but to declare a trade dispute.
