"UTHAMAKI DOINGS":IDPs marching to State House dispersed, beaten by police

A group of IDPs that was marching to State House, Nairobi on Wednesday morning has been dispersed and reportedly beaten up by police.
They had camped at Uhuru Park before they started walking to State House where they sought to petition the President for compensation.
The group said despite promises by the government, they are yet to be receive payments.
But police were called and are said to have forcefully taken them back to Uhuru Park.
Officers have reportedly been instructed to guard them at the park and bar them from State House.
On February 13, integrated IDPs across the country demanded for their Sh6 billion compensation.
The Internally Displaced Persons, who have settled in their respective homes, said the 10-year wait for their compensation was no longer tenable.
The group led by Nyanza IDPs Network coordinator Nelson Owegi said they want President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene on the matter.
