Even West Africa tired with JUBILEE tattered government>>Kenya summons Africa Diplomats who boycotted Madaraka Day

Storm is brewing in the diplomatic service of the country after several African heads of missionin Nairobi boycotted yesterday’s independence anniversary celebrations– Madaraka Day.
A senior foreign affairs ministry official has informed this writer that the government noted with ‘great exception’ the conduct of the diplomats, many of whom were seen shopping in various high-end malls within Nairobi’s Gigiri area – the country’s diplomatic hub.

The Ambassadors had been reserved chairs at the VIP dais only for their spaces to remain unoccupied throughout the ceremony.“Never before had we seen such heights of irresponsibility from our diplomatic friends. Kenya maintains friendly relations with most of their countries and it is their duty, as a matter of courtesy, to be here when we have our big moments,” said the source, adding that they got ‘several explanations’ do in the coming week.

Conspicuously absent were the Ambassadors of most West African nations. It is not yet established why they boycotted but there are simmering feelings in the diplomatic service from that part of he world that Kenya is only ‘keen on Nigeria’.
