RAILA ODINGA’s CORD vows to hold rallies despite ban by UHURU/ RUTO’s Government

Former PrimeMinister Raila Odinga’s Coalition for
Reforms and Democracy (CORD) has
reacted angrily to the purported ban on
all political rallies by the Government of
President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy ,
William Ruto, through the IG, David
Kimaiyo, say ing the Jubilee Government
was taking Kenya back to the dark KANU
day s.
Speaking after the ban, CORD leaders, led by Siaya Senator James Orengo and
his Bungoma counterpart, Moses Wetangula, said they will not be cowed by
Uhuru/ Ruto’s dictatorial tactics to silence the opposition.
They vowed to start holding political rallies every weekend beginning this
Friday to teach Uhuru/ Ruto a lesson and show them that Kenya has come of
age as far as democracy is concerned.
Orengo also maintained that the planned grand party for the former PM at
KICC is still on and urged Kenyans to turn up in large numbers.
The CORD leaders warned that the move to ban Raila’s reception party and
CORD rallies will have serious ramifications that could cause panic in Kenya.
“We will not allow the Jubilee Government to take us back to the dark KANU
day s. This is panic,” said Orengo.
On Tuesday , IG David Kimaiyo banned all political rallies across the country

until further notice.
