Residents Stunned as ‘Mourning’ Python Slithers into Venom Extractor’s House Before Lying on His Grave

Residents of a village near Lake Baringo were stunned after a giant snake slithered into the house of a famed venom extractor before resting on his grave.

The bizarre incident occurred barely 48 hours after the man identified as Ewoi Nakorot, alias Dr. William, was laid to rest.

Nakorot, who was born in Turkana in 1935, worked as a professional snake catcher until his death on June 6th this year aged 86.

The octogenarian started working with Jonathan Leaky, a snake tracker, where he captured snakes and extracted venom from them. He also used to showcase pythons to tourists visiting Lake Baringo.

His passion for catching pythons and extracting venom from the reptiles began after his friend died of a snake bite. He extracted venom from snakes across the country for many years and later started a snake park on the shores of Lake Baringo.

Residents who witnessed the python resting on Nakorot’s gravesite said it signified that it was in mourning his death.

Two of the deceased’s sons have taken on the venom milking business from their dad while his wife treats victims of snake bites.
