In his point by point letter to the President, Raila noted that Kenyans are separated into two parts since the debated 2013 Presidential race where Uhuru/ Ruto were announced champs and that the President ought to attempt to unite the two parts,otherwise one split, which he controls, won't hear them out in the event that they proceed with criticizing and disregarding him as the Opposition Leader.
He said his supporters are devoted to him and Uhuru/ Ruto must gain their trust by approaching him with deference else they will never know peace in their authority.

“Your daily appeal to citizenry to assist in curbing insecurity by volunteering
information is bound to land on deaf ears as long as your Government
continues to unnecessarily castigate and vilify some national leaders in the
country along party and ethnic lines. Such attacks on innocent and well
meaning leaders are seen as an act of disrespect to them by their followers
and will go further to alienate their followers from cooperating with your
Government, over and above the already questionable legitimacy ,” said Raila
Odinga.
