Arsenal transfer rumours: Gunners hoping to land Loic Remy for cut-price £8million

Arsene Wenger is on the look-out for summer recruits after being handed a huge transfer kitty.
And, not for the first time, he has his eye on a couple of French stars...

Remy available

Arsenal have been put on red alert after QPR boss Harry Redknapp revealed that striker Loic Remy is available for around £8million.
Wenger is a long-time admirer of the French international and is looking to bolster his strikeforce.
Remy signed for QPR from Marseille for £8million in January 2013 on a four-and-a-half year deal but his six goals were not enough to keep them up.
The 27-year-old netted a further 14 Premier League goals in 26 appearances on loan at Newcastle last season.
"I don't see (Loic) Remy wanting to come back and play," said Redknapp. "He's talking about playing Champions League somewhere.
"I wouldn't know what he'll do, but I think he's got a buy-out clause which is at a reasonable level."

Wenger drops Benzema hint

Arsenal have been linked with Real Madrid's French striker Karim Benzema for several seasons now.
And when Wenger was commentating on the Champions League final for French TV on Saturday night, he dropped a hint about one of his favourite players.
Wenger said Benzema "could play his last game for Real Madrid today" and that he was "sure [Benzema] will play in the Premier League one day."
